Abstract
Maģistra darbā aplūkota Lielupes baseina saimnieciskā vēsture dzelzs laikmetā no 1. – 12. gs.
– 12. gs.) dzelzs laikmetam. Darbam pievienoti pielikumi, kuri palīdz izsekot saimniecības attīstībai dzelzs laikmetā Lielupes baseina (Zemgales) teritorijā.
My master work is devoted to research of household history of Lielupe basin in the Iron Age from 1st to 12th century. The work is significant because there is very little research done on this topic about a particular part of Latvia territory – Lielupe basin household in Iron Age. Lielupe basin corresponds to the territory, that was inhabited by Semigallians. The main task of my work is to study the household development of Lielupe basin (Zemgale) territory remarking the principal tendencies and results of the development in each period of Iron Age. The main source used for the study was archaeological material. Inwrought with the household, also the physiogeographical situation of Zemgale region was examined that has significant impact to household development. The framework of the work corresponds to the principles of archaeological periodization deviding the Iron Age and therewith my master work in three parts – the Early (1st – 4th century), Middle (5th – 8th century) and Late (9th – 12th century) Iron Age. There are annexes included to the work, that help to follow the household development in the territory of Lielupe basin (Zemgale) in the Iron Age.
