Abstract
Kopš 2000.gada Eiropas Komisija sadarbībā ar jaunatnes organizācijām ir
izstrādājusi virkni jauniešiem adresētu programmu, kas kopumā veido līdz šim
vērienīgāko integrēto jaunatnes attīstības stratēģiju. Viena no tās prioritātēm ir
neformālā ceļā, jauniešiem savstarpēji sadarbojoties, iegūtas zināšanas un izglītība. Šī
darba mērķis ir noskaidrot veidu, kādā ES jaunatnes programmas veicina sociālā
kapitāla pieaugumu indivīda līmenī. Izvirzītā hipotēze apgalvo, ka dalība jaunatnes
programmās palielina jauniešu sociālo kapitālu, sniedzot divu veidu galvenos labumus:
pirmkārt, tā papildina jauniešu zināšanas un paplašina kontaktus, otrkārt, realizējot
iegūtos kontaktus un zināšanas dzīvē, veicina sabiedrības atvērtību, drošību un
ilgtspējīgu attīstību. Darbā izmantotas tādas pētījumu metodes kā dokumentu analīze,
līdzdalības novērojums, padziļinātas intervijas ar ekspertiem un ar jauniešiem, kas
izmanto ES jaunatnes programmu piedāvātās iespējas.
Since year 2000 European Commission in cooperation with youth organizations have developed number of programs for young people, which altogether form integrated, wide ranged strategy for youth development. One of its‘ priorities is informally, through mutual cooperation gained skills and education. The purpose of this work is to investigate and elicit on how EU youth programs facilitate the increase of social capital of individuals. Hypothesis put forward in the work assert that participation in youth programs increase young people social capital in two ways: it complement their knowledge and expand contacts as well as promote openness, security and sustainable development of the society through usage of acquired contacts and knowledge in practice. Research methods used in the work include document analysis, participatory observations and in-depth interviews with experts and young people who participate in EU youth programs
