Abstract
Darbs izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātes Bioanalītisko metožu laboratorijā no 2008. gada jūlija līdz 2009. gada maijam.
Retinoic acid (RA) is an active form of vitamin A which regulates vital processes both in embriogenesis, and during the life. The aim of this research was to compare the effect of RA on two different species similar cell types. During the research TGFβ2 protein secretion and gene expression changes were determined in three human heart mesenchymal stem cell lines and two avian heart mesenchymal cell lines which were cultivated in media with two different RA concentrations. TGFβ2 is a citokine and one of the ligands in TGFβ pathway which has a wide range of influence, including a role in heart morphogenesis. Acquired data points out the different interactions between RA and TGFβ2 in similar cell types of two different species. The work was done in Laboratory of Bioanalytical methods, University of Latvia from july, 2008, till may, 2009.
