Abstract
In this bacheleors thesis the territorial dispersion of 8th – 11 th (2002 – 2011) Saeima election results in Vidzemes and Latgale electoral districts has been resarched. It analyzes election results both from the perspective of political parties and election results for candidates in these political parties. The analysis of teritorial dispersion within studied electoral districts and also between them was made in this research. Key words: Saeima elections, territorial dispersion of results, ethnic composure, spaial autocorrelation The obtained results have shown important differences between election results which show that territorial dispersion in Vidzeme ir smaller than in Latgale electoral district. The main factor which influences dispersion of results is the ethnic factor which explains most of the territorial dispersion (R2=78 %) for elected parties in Saeima elections. The impact of ethnic factor is smaller in territories where there is a huge role for regional election candidates.
