Abstract
Šī darba mērķis ir atklāt Jēzus izteikuma “Es esmu pasaules gaisma” nozīmi Jāņa evaņģēlija 9:1 – 41 kontekstā. Autors, izmantojot gaismas simbolismu, atklāj Jēzu kā Dieva sūtītu, kas dod cilvēkam ne tikai fizisku redzēšanu, bet arī garīgu saprašamu. Jēzus kā gaisma, kas ir atklāsmes simbols, ir nācis pasaulē, lai tiesātu. Šeit tiesāt nozīmē atdalīt tos, kuri vēlas pieņemt Jēzu, no tiem, kuri Viņu noraida. Izdziedināšanas stāstā aklais vīrs pārstāv tos, kuri vēlas ticēt, bet jūdi reprezentē tos, kuri nevēlas. Jānis lasītājam atklāj, ka cilvēki, kuri negrib atzīt Dieva atklāsmi, ir patiesi akli.Viņš nepazīst ne sevi, ne Dievu. Jānis parāda cilvēka eksistences duālās iespējas: pieņemt Jēzu kā atklāsmi un saņemt garīgo izpratni, vai noraidīt Viņu. Cilvēks ir aicināts izvēlēties redzēt patieso gaismu, kas pasaulē spīd visu laiku. Atklāsme notiek visu laiku, to pieņemšana vai noraidīšana ir atkarīga no cilvēka izvēles

The aim of this work is to reveal the meaning of Jesus’s statement „I am the ligth of the world” in the Gospel of John 9:1- 41. Author using symbolism of ligth reveals Jesus as sent from God, who gives the man not only physical sight, but also spiritual perception. Jesus as the light, which is a symbol of the revelation, has come into the world to judge. Here word „to judge” means to separate those who receive Jesus from those who reject Him. In the healing story the blind man represents those who wants to belief and Jews represent those who don’t want. John reveals to the reader, that man who don’t want acknowledge the revilation of God is true blinde. He does not know himself or God. John shows the dual possibilities of human eksistence: to receive Jesus as the revelation und to take spiritual perception or to refuse Him. The man is invited to see the true light, who shines in the world without interruption. The revilation is all the time, it’s reception or rejection is dependent on man’s option.
