Abstract
Mūsdienās aizvien vairāk tiek popularizēts “zaļais” dzīvesveids. Vairākas valstis, tai skaitā arī Latvija, ilgtspējīgas attīstības stratēģijā un zemākas hierarhijas plānošanas dokumentos ir nospraudušas mērķi kļūt par zaļāku valsti. Diemžēl mazdārziņi kā instruments sociālo, ekonomisko, politisko un ekoloģisko jautājumu risināšanā ir ignorēts.
Bakalaura darba mērķis ir, izmantojot dažādas pētniecības metodes, novērtēt ģimenes dārziņu lomu gan sabiedrībā, gan kā daļu no ciema teritoriālās struktūras. Autore pētījusi Iecavas dārziņu attīstību, to izveidošanas un likvidācijas iemeslus, kā arī dažādus Iecavas plānošanas dokumentus un normatīvos aktus. Darba gaitā veikta ģimenes dārziņu lietotāju intervēšana un anketēšana, tādējādi iegūstot datus par dārzkopju populārākajām dārzu apsaimniekošanas praksēm, kā arī gūts ieskats par vidusmēra dārziņu lietotāju, pētīti dažādi sociāli procesi.

Nowadays, more and more are being promoted in the "green " lifestyle. Several countries, including Latvia , in Sustainable development strategy and the lower hierarchy of planning documents has set a target to become a greener country. Unfortunately, the gardens as a tool for social, economic, political and environmental issues are ignored. Bachelor work aims at using a variety of research methods to assess the role of family gardens in the community and as part of the territorial structure of the village. The author studied the Iecavas garden development, the reasons of establishment and liquidation, as well as various Iecavas planning documents and regulations. Author carried out family garden users interviews and surveys in order to obtain data on the most popular garden horticulturists management practices and deriving insight into the average user gardens, she also explored a variety of social processes.
