Abstract
The aim of the Diploma Paper is to show the necessity of teaching stereometry at elementary school. The Paper explores the usage of new technologies in teaching mathematics at school and offers support material for teachers of elementary schools teaching themes of stereometry with topics such as prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone and sphere. The research is structurally divided into three basic chapters. Chapter 1 presents basis of the scientific literature and foundation of topicality, Chapter 2 deals with analysis of the usage of new technologies in teaching mathematics. Chapter 3 consists of materials created for interactive whiteboard Promethean by the author. The appendix includes a disc with practical teaching material for the interactive whiteboard Promethean in AktiveInspire environment. Every chapter contains theory and practical tasks with keys on the particular theme. The research and attached practical materials are based on the standards of legal acts of Republic of Latvia, teaching literature, research done by Latvian and foreign scientists, publications in symposia and mass media, sources available on the Internet, as well as unpublished materials of Dobele State Gymnasium. The final part of the Paper presents a summary of conclusions, as well as clear suggestions for the usage of interactive whiteboard teaching stereometry at elementary school. The Diploma Paper consists of 53 pages, 2 tables, 82 illustrations, as well as 1 appendix. 16 sources of literature were used in the Paper.
