Abstract
Šajā bakalaura darbā autors ir iecerējis salīdzināt 20. gadsimta sākuma (aptuveni 1900.-1930. gadi) amerikāņu un latviešu dzeju, izejot no tās kopīgajām un atšķirīgajām īpašībām un ņemot vērā to, ka izvēlētajā laika posmā divi dažādi virzieni attīstījās šo divu tautu dzejā, proti, modernisms and romantisms. Šī darba mērķis ir noskaidrot galvenās norises, kas raksturo divu tautu dzejas attīstību dotajā laika posmā, un analizēt nozīmīgākos darbus no tiem atbilstošo literāro virzienu skata punkta.
In the present bachelor paper, the author intends to compare the American and the Latvian poetry of the early 20th century (approximately 1900-1930) on the basis of the common and distinct features characteristic of both, taking into account that two different trends were developing in the poetry of each of the two nations during the selected period, namely, modernism and Romanticism. The goal of the present work is to trace the principal developments that take place in the poetry of the two nations within the period selected and to analyse major works from the point of view of the literary trends, to which those works pertain.
