Abstract
Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot Latvijā 1990. gados dzimušās mākslinieku paaudzes trīs kapitālu – ekonomiskā, kultūras un sociālā – pielietojumu un iegūšanu mākslinieciskajā praksē, lai sekmētu simboliskā kapitāla iegūšanu gan vietējā, gan transnacionālajā mākslas laukā. Izmantojot Pjēra Burdjē kapitāla teoriju, tiek analizēta mākslinieciksā prakse, balstoties no iegūtajiem datiem lauka pētījumā (2021. gada septembris – 2022. gada marts). Pētījums atklāj, ka šīs paaudzes mākslinieki kā jaunpienācēji saskaras ar grūtībām veiksmīgi sasniegt savus profesionālos mērķus gan vietējā, gan globālajā mākslas laukā. Vietējais mākslas lauks nenodrošina tos ar piemērotu mākslas infrastruktūru, kamēr transnacionālais mākslas lauks pieprasa unikālu pienesumu, kas ļautu šo māksinieku paaudzi atšķirt no citiem dalībniekiem laukā.
The research aims to explore the use and acquirement of three types of capitals - economic, cultural and social capitals - in art practice of artists born in Latvia in the 1990s to acquire symbolic capital both in local artistic field and transnational. By using Pierre’s Bourdieu capital theory, the art practice is analyzed based on the fieldwork carried out from September 2021 until March 2022. The study reveals that this generation’s artists have hardships on accomplishing their professional goals both in local and global art arena as they are still the new comers to both art fields. The local art field does not fully provide them with appropriate art infrastructure, whereas the transnational art field requires uniqueness that would distinguish them from other actors in the field.
