Abstract
The thesis aim is to analyse European Union’s legislation regarding personal data processing and cases when such data can be issued to third parties. The research focuses on the human rights law in the context of personal data protection and personal data protection acts and includes European Union’s case law analysis, as well as French and Latvian legislation comparison in regards to individuals criminal background information accessibility to third parties, specifically to employers.
